About 26°N

26° North is rooted in the indigenous textiles of Northeast India, interpreted for a global audience. Known for its distinctive weaves and 100% natural yarns, the label works with ancient techniques and tools such as the tati haal (traditional handloom), sereki (bamboo-made thread winder), rashi (bamboo reed), and artisanal dyeing processes—methods that carry generations of knowledge, resistance, and survival.

We believe in redefining luxury by celebrating imperfect beauty. Raw edges, irregular textures, and visible flaws are not corrected or concealed; they are preserved. Every imperfection carries the mark of the human hand. For us, flaws are not mistakes—they are identity.

Deeply rooted in close collaboration with local weavers, artisans, and tribal communities of Assam, 26° North exists within a slow, self-sufficient ecosystem. Many of the artisans we work with weave from their homes, growing their own paddy, raising livestock, and living by systems untouched by urgency or excess. There is a quiet rebellion in this way of life—a refusal to bend, a freedom from external validation—and this energy sits at the core of the label.

26° North is about capturing the raw, untamed spirit of the tribes we work with. It’s about movement. It’s about resistance. And about wearing your story the way you live it—unpolished, intentional, and free.
